Engineered European oak takes patterned lay-ups — strip plank, chevron, herringbone — and is priced at CA$0.10 per square inch of top. Decorative panel is a continuous, patternless sheet at CA$0.08. For a quiet, uninterrupted surface the panel wins; for visible craft, the board.
